[Remote] Consultant
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. CFGI is a rapidly growing firm specializing in Risk Advisory services. They are seeking a Consultant to support various project engagements including SOX compliance reviews, internal audits, and operational reviews of business processes and systems. Responsibilities β’ Contribute to an assortment of risk-based, challenging internal audit assignments and projects β’ Develop business process flowcharts using Visio (or equivalent tools) β’ Create control narratives and risk and control matrices for complex business processes β’ Interact regularly with process / control owners to understand current business processes, key controls, system dependencies, employee roles / responsibilities, etc β’ Create test plans, gather evidence for testing, and execute testing procedures to determine process / control effectiveness β’ Perform control design evaluations and testing of key controls associated with areas under review β’ Document testing results through high-quality work papers (i.e., clear description of procedures performed and related audit results / observations) β’ Identify root causes of issues and effectively summarize testing results / conclusions β’ Draft formal reports for Manager / Director / Partner review and issuance to clients β’ Propose meaningful and cost-effective recommendations / solutions for process and/or control improvement to support client remediation needs β’ Demonstrate creativity in problem solving and optimizing efficiency and effectiveness of assigned tasks β’ Build skills by assisting the Firm's leadership with internal responsibilities for training, internal projects, and continual improvement Skills β’ Certified CPA, CIA or other standard auditing certification combined with solid internal audit experience β’ 2+ years of experience in public accounting and/or industry performing internal audit β’ Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, and ability to assimilate easily into teams β’ Strong technical skills and a working knowledge of SOX, COSO, SOC 1, and SOC 2 β’ Effective analytical and critical thinking abilities β’ Entrepreneurial nature, self-motivated, ethical, and dependable β’ Strong project management skills β’ High energy with a commitment to quality client service β’ Very strong performance within a team dynamic β’ Undergraduate degree in Accounting, CPA and/or MBA combined with solid accounting experience is preferred, but not required Company Overview β’ CFGI is a corporate finance and financial consulting firm that specializes in complex accounting, reporting, tax, and compliance issues.
