[Remote] Construction + Facilities Manager
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Heart + Paw is a company focused on reimagining pet care by providing full-service veterinary centers. The Construction + Facilities Manager will oversee the construction of new veterinary hospitals and renovations, manage project budgets, and coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Mange construction of new veterinary hospitals and renovation projects from concept through completion
ā¢ Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to determine project specifications
ā¢ Oversee bidding, vendor negotiations, and contract management
ā¢ Manage project schedules, milestones, and budgets to ensure successful delivery
ā¢ Review and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and structural drawings
ā¢ Hire and manage contractors, vendors, and consultants
ā¢ Supervise general contractors and construction teams, providing guidance and oversight as needed
ā¢ Oversee the permitting process and ensure projects meet regulatory requirements
ā¢ Investigate and resolve project issues such as delays, safety concerns, or damage
ā¢ Manage budgets for small to medium-sized construction projects
ā¢ Monitor project costs, change orders, and financial performance
ā¢ Identify and mitigate risk throughout the construction lifecycle
ā¢ Oversee facilities repairs and maintenance across existing veterinary centers
ā¢ Manage facilities specialist responsible for maintenance and repair requests
ā¢ Evaluate facility issues and provide recommendations for repairs and improvements
Skills
ā¢ Bachelor's degree in a construction related field such as Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Building Science
ā¢ Proven experience managing construction projects from planning through completion
ā¢ Expertise in Procore construction management software
ā¢ Experience managing project budgets and vendor contracts
ā¢ Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plans
ā¢ Willingness to travel frequently to job sites (travel up to 80%)
ā¢ Experience working with medical or veterinary equipment
ā¢ Experience managing multi site facilities operations
ā¢ Experience in fast paced or high growth environments
