[Remote] Component Design Engineer

They are seeking Component Design Engineers to support the design and development of reactor structures and mechanical equipment for an advanced Generation IV nuclear reactor program, focusing on the Rotatable Plug Assembly.ResponsibilitiesDesign reactor structures and mechanical components from requirements through final designDevelop equipment and component design solutions in coordination with engineering and project teamsPerform scoping calculations and support mechanical/stress analysis activitiesParticipate in and support design reviewsAssess technical solutions and collaborate with engineering teams on design improvementsSupport fabrication and supplier issue resolution during design and manufacturingWork closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams on integration and design executionApply nuclear industry engineering standards and best practices throughout the design processSkillsBS in Mechanical Engineering or related field4+ years or 8+ years (Senior Engineer) of mechanical equipment/component design experienceExperience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section IIIExperience writing engineering/design specificationsExperience with Design for Manufacturability and Design for AssemblyExperience with finite element stress analysis and mechanical analysis methodsExperience using ANSYS or similar mechanical stress analysis toolsCAD experience required; SolidWorks preferredStrong communication, technical problem-solving, and teamwork skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple technical tasksNuclear industry or other highly regulated engineering environmentsLarge mechanical assemblies or rotating equipmentSlewing ring bearingsElastomeric sealsBenefitsMedical, Dental, and Vision insurance401kSick leaveEmployee assistance programDepending on your package selection, Averro offers PTO, paid holidays, and legal insuranceCompany OverviewAverro was founded in 2010 It was founded in 2010, and is headquartered in Bellevue, WA , US, with a workforce of 501-1000 employees.
