POWERS Insurance and Risk Management is seeking a Commercial Lines Risk Advisor who will be responsible for generating leads and developing new accounts while maintaining client satisfaction in the property and casualty marketplace. The role requires excellent communication skills, a self-starter attitude, and a commitment to learning and achieving success in insurance sales.ResponsibilitiesGenerates leads, develops new accounts and handles existing accounts to maintain client satisfaction and compete in the property and casualty marketplaceCoordinates with the Commercial Lines Practice Leader and/or Sales Manager to perform market research and develop new programs and/or services to ensure company remains competitive in the marketplaceActively generates new leads and accounts through community activities, cold calling and account expansionsFollows up on all leads and referrals in a timely mannerDetermines whether prospective clients are interested in the company’s productsAssists Account Executive in placing new accounts, when appropriateActively promotes POWERS and the insurance industry in the communityKeeps informed of industry developments through review of trade press and by attending company training meetings on new coverages and productsContinually learning. Coachable in insurance sales and prospectingUtilizes and maintains client, prospect records, account folders and computer files in accordance with established procedures including using the company’s CRMParticipates in training programs as requested to the fullest extent possibleBuilds relationships with Trade Associations and other referral relationshipsGathers all necessary risk information for a quality new business submissionWorks with Sales Manager to prepare applications, surveys and other submission documents on new accountsReviews quotations to ensure accuracyReviews proposal and fine tunes with Account Executive in a timely mannerPresents proposal to prospects in a professional manner discussing coverage, limits, deductibles, and risk management exposures; answering questions to ensure understandingDetermines appropriate premium payment and options with new client and closes saleProvides binding email with additional information, coverage choice and signed documents to Account ExecutiveDelivers policies to client in a timely manner when appropriateReviews account expiration list with Account Executive and Account Manager to determine which accounts coming up for renewal need to be contacted and/or re-marketedObtains updated information necessary for renewal / re-marketing of accountUses Wunderite (submission platform) to prepare applications and attaches all other submission documents on renewals in a timely manner, keeping an open line of communication with the Account Executive or Account ManagerDiscusses findings of risk management review with Account Executive or Account Manager in order to identify inadequate coverages or limitsEstablishes/maintains positive working relationship with key clients throughout the yearAssists in collecting earned premiums, audit premiums, etc. when called upon.
