[Remote] Commercial Business Development Manager, Northeast Region

The Commercial Business Development Manager will be responsible for building the Zip category through education, specification influence, and market development, acting as a proactive market builder and establishing key relationships in the architecture and design community.ResponsibilitiesEducating a market that largely doesn’t yet know the categoryDriving early specification with architects and designersCreating pull-through demand into real projectsActing as a market builder, not just a sellerDrive specification activity early in the design cycleBuild relationships with key specifiers to increase adoption in project designsIdentify priority firms, verticals, and markets to focus specification effortsTrack project influence from design through to installation (pull-through visibility)Lead efforts to educate architects, designers, and engineers (A&D) on Zip’s technology and applicationsDeliver CEUs, lunch-and-learns, and in-office presentationsDrive demo unit placements within specifier offices to build familiarity and preferenceBuild relationships with industry associations and design communitiesDevelop and refine education content, presentations, and engagement strategies, often building materials from scratchPosition Zip as a thought leader and premium solution in the categoryAct as a proactive market builder, expanding existing opportunities while developing new relationships and areas of growthOperate effectively within an evolving business environment, leveraging existing structure while contributing to ongoing development and refinementBuild, test, and refine new approaches to: Specifier engagement, Education programs, Demo strategiesCreate and share repeatable playbooks and tools that can scale across regionsPartner with manufacturer rep agencies to scale A&D coverage and specification activityTrain and support reps on how to lead with education and specification sellingCollaborate with Territory Sales Managers (TSMs) to align on spec activity, project pipeline, and sales execution where it drives the greatest impactHelp define best practices for spec-driven selling across marketsSupport engagement with developers, owners, and project stakeholdersHelp convert specification activity into real project opportunitiesMaintain a balance between: Long-cycle specification influence, Near-term project winsRepresent Zip at trade shows, industry events, and design forumsExpand Zip’s presence within A&D and commercial real estate communitiesContribute to case studies and proof points where applicableReinforce Zip’s positioning as a design-forward, premium brandSkills5–10+ years of experience in: Business development, specification sales, or A&D engagementCommercial construction, building products, or related industriesExperience working with architects, designers, engineers, or specifiersProven ability to operate in a highly self-directed, ambiguous environmentStrong communication and presentation skills (especially in educational settings)Experience working with or managing rep agency networksBenefitsPaid time offHealthDentalVisionLifeDisability benefits401(k)Company OverviewCulligan works to provide better water for their customers in their homes, offices, restaurants, and industrial facilities around the world.
