[Remote] Cloud Systems Engineer

They are seeking a Cloud Systems Engineer to design, deploy, and manage a highly available, scalable AWS infrastructure for satellite Command & Control and data processing, ensuring the continuity of space weather measurements. The role involves collaboration with various engineering specialties to provide technical expertise in cloud computing and optimize cloud-based architectures.ResponsibilitiesProvide technical expertise for the design and implementation of cloud computing techniques and technologies to the programDesign, deploy and maintain scalable and highly available computing and storage solutionsImplement and optimize cloud-based architecturesOptimize and implement memory management identifying the best ways to maximize performance while controlling costsSupport data integration and migration efforts, including mapping schemas, and defining domain specific functionality, where applicableWork with team members from a variety of engineering specialties to troubleshoot and solve technical problemsSupport a range of clients from front line analysts to researchers and senior leadershipWork as a key contributor on a collaborative, fast-growing, and highly skilled engineering and development teamSkillsMinimum of 5 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 3 years with MS/MA9 years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degreeKnowledge of Cloud computing technologies and architectures to include experience designing and implementing CI/CD Pipelines, DevSecOps frameworks, application containerization and core Amazon Web ServicesStrong understanding of IP networking, firewalls, and data encryption, particularly with IAM and secure access to sensitive space assetsUnderstanding how to deploy compute instances, manage storage, configure networking, databases and integrate cloud servicesAbility to automate tasks and manage workflows using Python, Bash or PowerShellExperience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) design and implementation to include tools like Terraform, CloudFormation and AnsibleAWS Certified Cloud Architect or similar cloud certificationsAbility to obtain and hold a Public Trust clearance – US Citizenship is requiredProficiency in Docker and Kubernetes/EKS for deploying and managing containerized applicationsExperience with implementing and using artificial intelligence and machine learning toolsKnowledge of NIST security framework and security controls to maintain compliance for Government systemsExperience working within a distributed virtual team environment, with proficiency in remote collaboration tools and practicesExperience working on a satellite ground system with understanding of NOAA and NASA organizations and processesExperience working in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environments or similar Agile methodologies and experience with Jira/ Confluence Atlassian toolsStrong interpersonal skills with a willingness to foster strong relationships with coworkers, vendors and stakeholdersHighly organized with strong attention to detailActive Public Trust ClearanceBenefitsDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.Company OverviewPeraton Fearlessly solving the toughest national security challenges.
