Worcester Polytechnic Institute is seeking a Cloud Systems Administrator II to serve as a system administrator for Workday, overseeing tenant configuration, security administration, and release planning. The role involves providing support for the Workday HCM module and troubleshooting issues with applications and integrations while collaborating with the WPI community to meet various technology needs.ResponsibilitiesServe as a Workday system administrator, overseeing tenant configuration, security administration, and release planningIndependently triage complex issues and requests; perform necessary research to find solutions to best meet business needsHelp teams determine operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; and evaluating output requirements and formatsMonitor and report project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; and recommending actionsSupport business offices in the resolution of issues or problems with enterprise systemsProvide references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation; providing service desk support; and training usersManage the design, maintenance, and execution of testing strategies and plans in support of multiple initiativesIdentify and document problems during testing and coordinate corrective actionWork with stakeholders and project management teams to document deliverables and requirements for multiple functional and IT areas throughout WPIManage the requirements lifecycle for all initiatives in which the CSA II participatesBuild effective working relationships with members of the WPI communitySkillsBachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experienceA minimum of 3 years of related experience is required; Workday experience preferredDemonstrated experience working independently to identify root cause and resolve complex technical issuesDemonstrated experience in requirements gatheringDemonstrated understanding of higher-education business processes preferredExperience in business process documentation and design using standard modelingDemonstrated understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle and project management methodologiesAbility to perform requirements fit/gap analysisDemonstrated ability to translate, define, and document functional specificationsKnowledge and experience in developing, maintaining, and leading the testing lifecycle of a major implementationWorkday implementation experience a plusExcellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills to both business and technical audiencesDemonstrated collaboration experience with business units, technical staff, and implementation partnersSelf-motivated with critical thinking abilities and leadership skillsProficiency with MS Office products including PowerPoint, Visio, Project, and SharePointDemonstrated ability and desire to share knowledge and help others improveWorkday experience preferredDemonstrated understanding of higher-education business processes preferredWorkday implementation experience a plusBenefitsHealth insuranceLong-term careRetirementTuition assistanceFlexible spending accountsWork-life balanceCompany OverviewWPI is a private technological university that offers research facilities and a community of students and members.
