[Remote] Cloud Infrastructure Engineer - Vice President

They are seeking a Vice President of Platform Infrastructure Architecture to define and evolve technical standards for Kubernetes platforms, cloud networking, and API access, while ensuring scalability and security across regions.ResponsibilitiesEvolve platform architecture standards across core infrastructure domainsDesign and validate Kubernetes platform architecture, including cluster lifecycle, autoscaling strategies, node provisioning, and OS standards (e.g., EKS, Karpenter, Bottlerocket)Define cloud networking architecture patterns, including VPC design, routing, ingress/egress, TGW design and private connectivityOwn architectural guidance for edge and traffic management, including CDN, DNS, and TLS strategies (e.g., Akamai, Cloudflare)Define and standardize API Gateway and north south access patterns for secure and consistent service exposureEstablish and maintain multi account and multi cluster architecture standards supporting scale, isolation, and operational clarityProduce and maintain reference architectures, design documents, and architectural guardrails consumed by Platform Infrastructure engineers and application teamsReview proposed platform designs and changes to ensure alignment with long term architecture strategyStay hands on through proof of concepts, reference implementations, and technical deep dives to validate architectural decisionsPartner with engineering, security, and product teams to ensure platform standards are practical, well understood, and broadly adoptedSkills8+ years of experience in platform, cloud, or infrastructure engineering roles, with demonstrated architectural responsibilityStrong hands on experience designing and operating Kubernetes platforms in production environmentsDeep understanding of AWS infrastructure, including networking, security primitives, and managed servicesExperience designing cloud networking and edge architectures, including ingress/egress and traffic managementProven ability to translate complex technical requirements into clear standards and reference architecturesComfortable operating as a senior individual contributor with influence across multiple teamsStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain architectural decisions to both technical and nontechnical audiencesCertifications (AWS / Kubernetes) are a plus but not requiredBenefitsEquity for all full-time employeesAn annual performance bonusAn employer matched retirement planGenerously subsidized healthcare with 100% employer paid dental, vision, telemedicine, and virtual mental health counselingParental leaveUnlimited paid time off (PTO)Employees in this role will work in the office Monday-Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely on FridayCompany OverviewDice is a job-searching platform for technology professionals.
