They are seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to manage and improve their global cloud infrastructure, primarily using Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365, while contributing to automation and infrastructure projects.ResponsibilitiesManaging and maintaining Microsoft Azure infrastructure across all subscriptions, ensuring availability, performance and securityAdministering Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and OneDriveManaging the Microsoft Defender suite across Endpoint, Identity, Cloud Apps and M365, implementing recommendations to improve the organisation’s security postureMaintaining and improving Intune device management and compliance across the managed estateBuilding, maintaining and improving DevOps pipelines for infrastructure automationSupporting and maintaining cloud application deployments, including upgrades, patch management and DR failoverManaging and triaging the IT infrastructure support queue, resolving issues in line with agreed SLAsMaintaining clear and up-to-date documentation to support the wider teamCollaborating effectively with a globally distributed team across multiple time zonesSkillsHands-on experience administering cloud infrastructure, including compute, networking, storage, identity, security and compliance — Azure preferred, though experience with other major cloud providers such as AWS or GCP is welcomeWorking knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive)Working knowledge of Microsoft Defender suite (Endpoint, Identity, Cloud Apps and Office 365)Working knowledge of Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager for device management and complianceServer maintenance, patching and application deployment in a cloud environmentFamiliarity with scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell, with the ability to run and adapt scripts to support infrastructure tasksUnderstanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP and firewall concepts)Ability to take ownership of issues and see them through to resolution, taking accountability until the problem is mitigated or resolvedAbility to troubleshoot and identify problems across different technology capabilities, including cloud, identity, networking and application layersStrong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate in a remote, globally distributed teamMicrosoft certifications such as AZ-104, MS-102, AZ-900 or equivalentExperience with Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD pipeline toolsExperience supporting and maintaining third-party SaaS applications and integrationsExperience building and testing integrations or connections between systems and servicesExperience with version control, Infrastructure as Code or automated testing practicesFamiliarity with Microsoft Copilot and AI productivity toolsBenefitsInclusion in the ActiveOps Bonus schemeCompany OverviewActiveOps is a provider of digital operations management solutions to financial services.
