This entry-level role is ideal for individuals looking to build hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, automation, and modern DevOps practices while working alongside experienced cloud engineers.ResponsibilitiesTrack work and document task details within issue and project management systemsSupport and maintain cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices with guidance from senior engineersAssist with routine administration and maintenance of cloud environments across AWS and AzureMonitor cloud platform health, performance, and reliability while troubleshooting operational issuesPerform operating system patching, updates, and disaster recovery testingApply cloud security best practices in accordance with organizational standards and policiesAssist with application and infrastructure deployments through CI/CD pipelines and automation workflowsCreate and maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, and knowledge base articlesCollaborate with development teams and stakeholders to support cloud operations and deployment activitiesParticipate in a shared on-call rotationSkillsFamiliarity with AWS and/or Azure cloud platformsExperience managing Windows and/or Linux systems, including user and group administrationUnderstanding of networking fundamentals including subnets, firewalls, DNS, VPNs, and load balancersBasic proficiency with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShellFamiliarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or AnsibleExperience using version control systems such as GitExposure to CI/CD tools and deployment workflows such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOpsFamiliarity with monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, OpenSearch, Nagios, or CheckMKStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectivelyWillingness to support occasional off-hours maintenance or operational activities as neededClear written and verbal communication skillsAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experienceRelevant cloud or technical certifications such as: AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals, AWS Solutions Architect Associate, HashiCorp Terraform Associate, CompTIA or Microsoft certificationsFamiliarity with AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot or ChatGPTExposure to container technologies such as Docker or KubernetesFamiliarity with ticketing systems such as Jira or ServiceNow and basic ITIL conceptsDemonstrated ability to learn new technologies quicklyStrong desire to grow professionally and expand cloud engineering skillsCompany OverviewFoodChain ID is a provider of technology-enabled, integrated testing, certification, and technical services solutions.
