The Cloud Engineer will design, implement, and support cloud-native solutions within AWS environments, ensuring operational excellence and compliance with requirements.ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and maintain cloud-native solutions on AWSDevelop and support highly automated infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevSecOps best practicesConfigure, deploy, and manage AWS services, including containerized and serverless workloadsBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support application deployment and operational efficiencyImplement cloud security controls, monitoring, logging, and automation solutionsSupport cloud networking, identity management, and access control requirementsCollaborate with development, testing, security, and operations teams to support application lifecycle activitiesTroubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure and application issuesSupport performance optimization, scalability, resiliency, and availability objectivesParticipate in infrastructure modernization and continuous improvement initiativesCoordinate technical activities with Government technical leads and stakeholdersEnsure compliance with organizational, security, and contractual requirementsSkillsBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related fieldStrong experience in Amazon AWS Cloud technologiesExperience in organizing, directing, and managing multiple, complex, and interrelated application development and testing tasksThe individuals should be responsible for technical quality and coordination with government technical leads throughout information technology (IT) and shall be available during normal hours of operationAdvanced Cloud certifications in good standingMinimum seven (7) years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting highly automated cloud-native solutions on AWSDemonstrated experience building and supporting scalable, secure, and resilient cloud environmentsExperience supporting multiple complex and interrelated application development, deployment, and testing effortsExperience working within Agile, DevSecOps, and cloud-native development environmentsStrong experience designing and supporting cloud-native solutions on AWS, including services such as EKS, Lambda, S3, IAM, GitHub Actions, Terraform, and VPC networking, with a focus on scalability, security, and automationExperience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or similar technologiesExperience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or equivalent toolsKnowledge of containerization and Kubernetes-based platformsStrong understanding of cloud security, identity and access management, monitoring, logging, and operational best practicesExperience supporting highly available and resilient cloud environmentsKnowledge of tax processing, tax compliance systems, case management solutions, and taxpayer data environmentsExperience supporting IRS, Federal Government, or other public-sector IT programsFamiliarity with NIST, FedRAMP, IRS Publication 1075, and related security and compliance requirementsExperience supporting cloud modernization and digital transformation initiativesCompany OverviewCloud7Works is an SBA 8(a)–certified small business that helps federal agencies modernize mission-critical systems through secure cloud, data, AI, and enterprise architecture solutions.
