[Remote] Clinical Genomic Scientist- Carrier Screening

Baylor Genetics is seeking a Clinical Genomic Scientist I who will analyze clinical genetics data, curate variants and genes, and summarize findings for clinical reports. This remote position includes responsibilities such as variant curation, data analysis, and clinical report drafting, all while collaborating with laboratory directors and R&D.ResponsibilitiesCuration (50%): curation of variants, genes, and gene-disease correlation following ACMG guidelinesAnalysis (30%): analyzing clinical genomics data, selecting variants for curation/confirmation, variant nomenclature following HGVS guidelinesOther (20%): may involve clinical report drafting, test validation, process refinement, presenting findings, monitoring test turnaround time and task delegationSkillsPhD or MD in clinical medicine, genetics, molecular biology, or equivalentStrong candidates with a Master's degree and relevant experienceFamiliarity with American College of Medical Genetics (ACMG) variant curation guidelinesKnowledge of genomic variation and its correlation with human diseaseExpertise in concepts of clinical medicine, genetics, genomics, or molecular biologyExperience in data quality assessment and communicating genetic details effectivelyExcellence in reading/writing medical languageProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)MB(ASCP) certificationExperience in bioinformatics analysisVariant effect prediction algorithmsScripting languagesCompany OverviewBaylor Genetics offers a full spectrum of cost-effective, genetic testing, and provides clinically relevant solutions.
