They are seeking a Municipal Water Client Leader to grow their municipal water market in the Northeast, emphasizing client engagement and strategic leadership in drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater projects.ResponsibilitiesGrow the municipal water practice across drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, and water resources in the NortheastServe as a trusted advisor by understanding municipal operational, regulatory, funding, and infrastructure challengesIdentify client needs and proactively develop solutions aligned with capital planning and long‑term prioritiesPosition the firm early for upcoming work through strong client engagement and insight into municipal planning cyclesLead or support project delivery with a focus on quality, responsiveness, and client serviceCollaborate with technical teams to align solutions with client expectations and deliver high‑quality outcomesLead or support proposals and interviews including scopes, budgets, presentations, and positioning strategiesShape scopes, budgets, and schedules in partnership with clients and internal teamsDevelop account plans and growth strategies aligned with client needs and regional goalsSupport healthy account management by helping teams stay aligned on budgets, invoicing, communication, and expectationsStrengthening client relationships and creating opportunities for technical teams to engage and growParticipate in conferences to build relationships and stay current on emerging technologies and market driversCoach and develop staff to support technical and professional growthContribute to a collaborative team culture focused on client success and high‑quality deliverySkills10–20 years of municipal water experience — wastewater, stormwater, drinking water, or water resources consultingBachelor's degree in environmental or civil engineering from an accredited programStrong understanding of municipal decision-making including budgets, boards/commissions, capital planning, procurement, regulatory drivers, and funding programsAbility to understand client needs and project delivery and identify opportunities to add value over timeCredibility with public‑sector clients and ability to build relationships with engineers, operators, public works leaders, utility directors, and municipal stakeholdersTechnical strength with interest in broader leadership including client strategy, business development, and regional growthGrowth potential without needing an existing book of business but with ambition, emotional intelligence, and initiativePeople‑focused and collaborative mindset with creativity and energy for solving complex municipal challengesEnjoyment of team building and mentoring and bringing the right people together to deliver high‑quality solutionsGrowth mindset with desire for autonomy and visibility and a broader platform to shape their careerExperience supporting proposals and client positioning including scopes, budgets, interviews, and presentationsDesire to expand beyond technical execution into client strategy, practice growth, and leadershipStrong communication and problem‑solving skills with the ability to collaborate and build effective teamsMotivation to help grow the organization and the ability to inspire, connect, and develop othersBenefits401(k) Pre-tax or Roth Contributions: The company matches 100% of the first 3% of salary contributedObserved holidays: Choose up to 8 holidays to observe annuallyVacation: Accrued based on years of experience and calculated on hours workedSick time: Paid sick time for non-work-related illness or injury.Parental leave: Up to 80 hours of Paid Parental Leave for child bondingDisability: Paid short- and long-term disabilityHealth: Medical plan options; plus dental and vision plans.Life: Basic employee group life insurance and AD&D benefits; additional voluntary life insurance for employees and families is available through Sun Life.Wellbeing: DarioMind assistance program combined with personalized mental health and wellbeing resources.Company OverviewWoodard & Curran is an integrated science, engineering, and operations firm that provides water and environmental services.
