[Remote] Claim Advisor, Accident Benefits

They are seeking a Claim Advisor, Accident Benefits to handle complex first-party injury claims, interpret policy wording, and ensure compliance with legislative requirements.ResponsibilitiesInterpret insurance policy wording, determine policy coverages and set reserves on Accident Benefit claims assignedInvestigate, negotiate and settle accident benefits claims or moderate to high complexity by telephone, in person and/ or by written correspondenceComply with best practices as set out in Allstate policies and proceduresAdhere to legislative and regulatory requirementsEnsure files are thoroughly documentedSettlement of claims within personal authority and follow company guidelines on claims exceeding personal authoritySet and define customer service expectationsTake ownership and accountability to solve customer problemsMaintain a caseload reflective of a Senior Claim Advisor, Accident BenefitsCommunicate and interact with claimants, vendors, medical professionals, lawyers in a professional mannerWork collaboratively with a team of Accident Benefit Adjusters and Claims AssistantsSkillsMinimum post-secondary education is requiredA minimum of 1-2 years relevant Accident Benefits experienceStrong time management and organizational skills as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environmentStrong critical thinking skills to identify strengths and weaknesses of claimStrong written and verbal communication skills with a commitment to providing outstanding customer serviceAbility to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environmentCompletion of CIP designation or desire to pursue is preferredPrior insurance experience and knowledge in injury claims, medical rehabilitation concepts, and medical terminology is preferredBenefitsFlexible Work Arrangements7% employer match on contributions to our RRSP program.Employee discounts (15% on auto and property insurance, plus many other products and services)Student Loan Payment Matching Program for Government Student loansComprehensive Retirement Savings Program with employer matched contributionsAnnual Wellness allowance to support employees with improving health and wellbeingPersonal reflection dayTuition ReimbursementWorking within the community and giving back!Company OverviewAllstate Canada offers property and auto insurance services.
