Remote Civil Litigation Attorney – Labor & Employment (1–3 Years Experience)
Location: Fully Remote within San Francisco, CA Area
Salary: $100,000 – $130,000 annually, based on experience
Schedule: Monday – Friday | PST Business Hours
About the Role
A reputable, growing California law firm is seeking a California-licensed Civil Litigation Attorney in the San Francisco area with 1–3 years of hands-on experience to join their team. This role is fully remote and focuses on supporting employment law matters in California state court.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career attorney who already has real, practical litigation experience and is looking to further develop their skills in employment law. The ideal candidate is comfortable handling litigation tasks independently and contributing to case strategy in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must have direct, hands-on experience with California civil discovery and motion drafting.
Key Responsibilities
• Draft and respond to California civil discovery (interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admission)
• Draft motions, pleadings, and legal briefs in California state court
• Conduct legal research related to employment law and litigation strategy
• Manage case deadlines, court timelines, and documentation
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on case development and strategy
• Support the progression of employment litigation matters from early stages through resolution
Required Experience
• Active California Bar license (required)
• 1–3 years of hands-on civil litigation experience (internships/clinics do not count)
• Direct experience handling California civil discovery, including:
• Interrogatories
• Requests for Production
• Requests for Admission
• Experience drafting motions and pleadings in California state court
• Strong legal writing, research, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
Preferred Experience
• Experience working on employment law matters, including:
• Wrongful termination
• Wage & hour disputes
• Discrimination, harassment, or retaliation claims
• Familiarity with California Labor Code and FEHA
• Experience managing multiple active litigation matters
