Job Summary Shopify is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Remote Chat Support Agent to join our dynamic global support team. Key Responsibilities Respond promptly to customer inquiries via live chat, delivering clear and professional solutions. Troubleshoot technical and account-related issues with Shopify’s platform and tools. Escalate complex cases to higher-tier support or relevant teams while maintaining ownership of customer satisfaction. Document customer interactions accurately and comprehensively in the support system. Identify trends in customer inquiries to proactively improve support processes. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Shopify products, policies, and best practices. Contribute to team knowledge sharing and training sessions to enhance overall support quality. Required Skills and Qualifications Strong written communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly. Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities. Basic understanding of e-commerce platforms and online business operations. Ability to remain patient and empathetic in challenging customer interactions. Comfortable working in a remote environment with minimal supervision. Familiarity with chat support tools or customer service software is a plus. Experience Minimum of 1–2 years in customer support, preferably in chat or remote support roles. Prior experience in e-commerce, SaaS, or technology support is highly desirable. Working Hours Flexible remote schedule; availability during core business hours is required. Ability to work weekends or evenings based on rotational shifts may be necessary. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong computer literacy, including proficiency with CRM tools and online communication platforms. Ability to multitask and manage multiple chat conversations efficiently. High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in communication and documentation.
