Job Title: Pharmacy Technician

Job Description

We are seeking dedicated Pharmacy Technicians to join our team. In this role, you will review Prior Authorizations for coverage determination within a Pharmacy Services department, which is part of a large healthcare insurance company. You will be responsible for approving or denying requests and sending them to Pharmacists for final review. This position involves minimal phone work, primarily outbound calls, and handling all health plans and types of medications.
Responsibilities
? Track coverage determination requests.
? Obtain verbal authorizations and request detailed clinical information from prescribers.
? Approve requests based on criteria and enter decisions into the PBM system.
? Notify providers and members of decision outcomes.
? Respond to client inquiries and refer requests for specialty drugs.
? Contact providers for additional information when necessary.
? Assist with inbound and/or outbound patient or physician calls if needed.
Essential Skills
? High School diploma or GED.
? Current Pharmacy Registration and Certification as required by the state of operation.
? Basic computer skills.
? Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
? Strong data entry and customer service skills.
? Experience with prior authorization processes.
? Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance health plans.
? Registered and certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB, NHA).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
? Experience in retail pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, or specialty pharmacy.
? Call center experience.
? Experience with Prescription Benefits Management (PBM) systems.
Work Environment

This is a professional remote environment. You will work with multiple screens and within multiple systems. A strong WiFi connection and a dedicated office space with a closed door are required.
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
