[Remote] Centralized Financial Services Team Lead

Ancora Education is seeking a Centralized Financial Services Team Lead to provide oversight and leadership to the Financial Services department. The role involves assisting the Financial Services Manager with scheduling, planning, and training, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and managing financial aid processes.ResponsibilitiesAssists in managing the financial aid processProvides support to the Financial Services Manager and Financial Services Analysts in the accurate and timely review of all student files; including verification, ISIR corrections, professional judgments, COD rejects, conflicting information, approving funds, calculating R2T4s, processing credit balances, answering financial aid inquiries from students and staff, and ensuring academic years, payment periods, loan periods, term codes, and disbursement dates are accurateProvides instruction, assistance, and leadership to support the financial aid process and support Financial Services objectives and goalsPrepares reports for the Financial Services Manager reflecting team activity to ensure critical information is conveyed on a timely basisEnsures compliance with Title IV policyIs a subject matter expert on financial aid policy (Federal and Delta) to ensure Delta is in compliance with all federal regulations and institutional proceduresAssists the Financial Services Manager with responding to internal quality assurance findings and recommending improvements where necessaryResponds to inquiries and requests from staff and students to ensure prompt resolution of financial aid issuesEnsures Financial Services Analysts review student files within the terms of the service level agreement and Federal regulationsCommunicates regularly and effectively with various team members including campus level and regional staff to proactively resolve issues and discuss opportunities for process improvementHandles escalations from the Financial Services Analysts, and also escalates his/her own issues to the Financial Services ManagerHandles complaints and suggestions from Financial Services Analysts and/or internal customersUnder the direction of the Financial Services Manager, provides individual and/or team training to minimize skill gaps required to be a successful Financial Services AnalystAssist others to improve their performance levels to achieve individual and group goalsResolves individual and group performance issues in a timely manner to motivate and foster teamworkIdentifies opportunities to involve others in new and challenging work assignments that advance the skills and capabilities of individuals and the teamAssists in problem-solving to ensure the team achieves their daily/weekly goalsAssists the Financial Services Manager with interviewing and hiring qualified candidatesSkillsAssociate's degree (or equivalent experience and education) in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field1-2 years of progressive financial aid experienceExperience with student management software (e.g., CampusVue and Broadleaf)Solid working knowledge of federal/state government education regulationsKnowledge of Title IV ComplianceKnowledge of Microsoft Office programs, CampusVue, and BroadleafHigh level of integrityStrong sense of personal responsibilityAbility to lead and recommend changes to mitigate exceptionsAbility to operate in a dynamic & flexible environment with confidence and poiseAbility to manage internal relationships at all organizations levels effectivelySuperior oral and written communication skillsProblem-solving and critical thinking skills are a MUSTAble to manage multiple documents and projects simultaneouslyAttention to detailBachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related field2-3 years progressive financial aid experience1-2 years of experience with CampusVue and Broadleaf softwareCompany OverviewAncora Education provides allied fitness, wellness, nursing, software development & IT, protection & legal trades, and art & design.
