The Captive Account Executive serves as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of captive insurance company clients, overseeing day-to-day management, governance, financial coordination, and regulatory compliance while acting as a trusted advisor.ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary point of contact for assigned captive clients, building strong, consultative relationships with owners, board members, and senior leadershipCoordinate and support captive board meetings, including agenda development, preparation of materials, minutes, and follow‑up on action itemsProvide strategic guidance on captive performance, structure, and long‑term planningProactively identify client needs, emerging risks, and opportunities for program optimizationOversee day‑to‑day captive operations, ensuring adherence to governance documents, business plans, and service agreementsMonitor underwriting results, loss experience, reserves, and program performance in partnership with actuaries and claims administratorsCoordinate with fronting carriers, reinsurers, brokers, and third‑party administrators (TPAs) as applicableSupport formation, restructuring, expansion, or run‑off of captive programs as neededReview and coordinate preparation of financial statements, management reports, and regulatory filingsServe as liaison with auditors, actuaries, tax providers, and regulatorsEnsure compliance with domicile laws and regulations, including annual filings, premium taxes, and licensing requirementsAssist with capital planning, dividend strategies, and solvency monitoringPartner with internal accounting, compliance, and advisory teams to deliver high‑quality captive management servicesContribute to continuous improvement of processes, reporting, and service deliveryMentor junior captive professionals and support team development where applicableSupport new captive formations or expansions through technical expertise and client presentationsParticipate in client meetings, industry events, and thought leadership initiativesIdentify opportunities to expand services with existing captive clientsSkillsBachelor's degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field7+ years of experience in captive insurance management, commercial insurance, risk management, or a related disciplineStrong understanding of captive insurance structures, governance, and operations, prior experience working with Risk Retention Groups preferableExperience working directly with senior clients, boards, or executive stakeholdersExcellent written, verbal, and presentation skillsProfessional designations such as ACI, CPCU, ARM, or progress toward certificationExperience working with domestic and/or international captive domicilesKnowledge of reinsurance structures and fronting arrangementsClient‑focused, consultative mindsetStrong financial and analytical acumenHighly organized with the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlinesAbility to translate technical insurance and financial concepts into clear, actionable insightsProven problem‑solving and decision‑making skillsCollaborative and adaptable in a dynamic environmentPeriodic travel for client meetings, board meetings, and domiciliary visitsCompany OverviewHylant is a full-service insurance brokerage.
