[Remote] Business Systems Analyst

The Business Systems Analyst serves as the critical bridge between internal business stakeholders and the development team, owning the requirements process and ensuring clear documentation for data initiatives. This role is essential for delivering analytics, business intelligence, and reporting solutions efficiently and at scale.ResponsibilitiesOwn the intake and discovery process for internal data initiatives, ensuring requirements are fully understood and documented before development resources are engagedLead requirements-gathering sessions with business stakeholders, applying techniques that draw out needs stakeholders may not yet be able to fully articulate — particularly in analytics and BI contexts where desired outcomes often emerge through iterationTranslate business requirements into clear, dev-ready documentation including user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules, data definitions, and reporting logic that development teams can act on independentlyContribute to a groomed and prioritized requirements backlog in collaboration with the Technical Project Manager, ensuring development always has well-defined work ready to executeServe as the ongoing point of contact for stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, managing expectations and communicating status, trade-offs, and decisions clearlyPartner with stakeholders to define requirements for analytics, business intelligence, and reporting solutions — including KPIs, desired outcomes, and data needs — in a form the development team can act onSupport stakeholder validation of early builds, prototypes, and draft deliverables to confirm development has interpreted requirements correctly and surface gaps before they compoundIdentify gaps, conflicts, or risks in requirements early and resolve them proactively before they reach the development teamParticipate in agile ceremonies as needed, ensuring user stories remain aligned with stakeholder intent throughout developmentSkills2–4 years of experience in a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar requirements-focused roleDemonstrated ability to gather and document complex business requirements across multiple stakeholders or departmentsStrong written and verbal communication skills; able to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences and business needs for technical teamsExperience writing user stories and acceptance criteria in an agile or agile-adjacent environmentProven ability to manage competing priorities and drive clarity in ambiguous situationsFamiliarity with Jira and Confluence for requirements tracking and documentation; experience working in a Microsoft Teams-based collaborative environmentHigh attention to detail with a track record of thorough, accurate documentationBachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experienceBenefitsHealth, Dental & Vision Insurance401 (k) + Employer MatchUnlimited PTO + 11 Paid Holidays + 4 Annual Paid Global Wellness Days OffSTD, LTD & Group Life InsurancePaid Parental LeavePet InsuranceFSA & HSA OptionsEmployee Assistance ProgramRemote WorkCareer Advancement & Professional Development OpportunitiesEmployee RecognitionLinkedIn Learning PlatformCompany OverviewMitratech is a proven technology partner for corporate legal departments, risk & compliance teams, and HR professionals.
