They are seeking a motivated Business Development Specialist to support growth in the Cell and Gene Therapy market by managing a defined territory, driving new business opportunities, and building strong customer relationships.ResponsibilitiesOwn and manage the full sales cycle for assigned accounts, including prospecting, opportunity development, closing, and account expansionManage a portfolio of low to mid-volume accounts while identifying opportunities to grow high-value customers within the territoryAchieve and consistently deliver on monthly and annual sales targets through effective pipeline managementIdentify, develop, and secure new business opportunities while expanding existing customer relationships through cross-selling strategiesMaintain and manage a healthy sales funnel, ensuring accurate forecasting and timely progression of opportunitiesCollaborate with internal stakeholders, including scientific support, product management, and marketing teams, to meet customer needsDevelop and maintain strong knowledge of Lonzaβs Biosciences Discovery portfolio and effectively communicate its value proposition to customersMaintain accurate records of customer interactions, opportunities, and activities within the CRM systemSkills3β5 years of experience in sales or business development within the life sciences, biotech, or pharmaceutical industryDemonstrated experience managing the full sales cycle, including prospecting, pipeline management, and closingStrong understanding of cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or related scientific disciplinesWorking knowledge of drug discovery workflows, pre-clinical development, and the Cell & Gene Therapy landscapeProven ability to build and maintain customer relationships through a consultative and solutions-oriented approachEffective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholdersStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities in a fast-paced environmentWillingness and ability to travel up to 30% as needed for customer engagementBenefitsPerformance-related bonus.Medical, dental and vision insurance.401(k) matching plan.Life insurance, as well as short-term and long-term disability insurance.Employee assistance programs.Paid time off (PTO).Company OverviewLonza Group supplies products and services to pharmaceutical and agrochemical industries.
