[Remote] Business Development Manager - Pharmaceutical & Nutraceutical

Altium Packaging is a leader in the packaging industry, and they are seeking a Business Development Manager to lead sales and customer relationship management for the Pharmaceutical and Nutrition segments. The role involves developing commercial strategies, executing sales objectives, and maintaining relationships with strategic customers to drive growth and meet financial goals.ResponsibilitiesDevelop commercial strategies and find business opportunities to increase market share and expand into new markets for the company’s portfolio of plastic packaging (pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and nutrition bottles, caps and labels)Use competitive analysis and market research to drive business goalsDaily hands-on execution of sales objectives to achieve KPIs, including sales reporting, market mapping and analytics, pipeline management, bid preparation, etc. in order to drive growth in identified marketsBuild and/or maintain a strong, sustainable relationship with strategic customers and partners by reinforcing quality, continuous innovation, and solution sellingComfortable in a complex sales environmentMust be able to price, manage and close business in the sales pipelineEstablish and maintain relationships with individuals at multiple levels within major clientsDevelop annual sales forecast and provide quarterly updatesMeet annual sales and profitability goals, while delivering robust year over year growthWork effectively across the organization to ensure that customers’ expectations are metDemonstrate behaviors consistent with our guiding principlesReasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needsSkillsA minimum of 5 years of experience in a sales role in a similar industry or calling on a similar customer baseBachelor degree requiredEffective economic thinking skills with ability to apply concepts such as opportunity cost, competitive advantage, comparative advantage, switching cost and next best alternativeProven track record of obtaining new customersAbility to create key account plans and execute against themExcellent communication skills and the ability to negotiate with a demonstrated background of closing dealsValue selling or solution selling experienceProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) to build budgets and forecasts and to create presentationsKnowledge of and experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRMs) and sales pipeline management tools for tracking and reporting of current and future opportunitiesExperience in a dynamic pricing environment and contract management acumen requiredWilling and able to travel by air and carCompetitive mentality – must enjoy the thrill of pursuing business and closing new accountsStrong communication skills and excellent organizational skillsAbility to work well independently, energetic self-starter with strong work ethicTeam player with the ability to collaborate effectively with others during development and implementation of processes and programsPackaging sales experience in the plastics industry (pharmaceutical and nutrition bottles, vials, caps)Experience calling on customers in the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, nutrition, health & wellness, supplements, and specialty pharmacy verticals or related industriesExperience with large, national accountsBenefitsMedical, dental and vision plansCompany holidays and vacation daysTuition reimbursementLearning and training opportunitiesBonus potential401(k) plan with company contributionsRewards and recognition programsOpportunities to make a difference in the communityCompany OverviewAltium Packaging engages in the design, development & manufacturing of plastic packages & recycled resin for various industries.
