Shermco Industries, North America’s largest NETA-accredited electrical testing organization, is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager specializing in Electric Motors. The role involves identifying and targeting key customers within the energy and industrial sectors, developing market strategies, and leading proposals to successfully close sales opportunities.ResponsibilitiesProvide business development, from identifying and targeting key customers through validation of opportunities within energy and industrial sectors, leading to proposals and successful closing of workIdentify, develop, and implement market and business development strategies and supporting tactical plansQualify prospective sales opportunities to determine which opportunities to pursueAccountable for attaining yearly multi-million-dollar sales budgetsMaintain industry knowledge and improve technical knowledge based on market requirementsSupport our key marketing activities such as road shows, national conferences, tradeshows, sales trainings, and trade organizationsPerform job walks and assist in the preparation of estimates, sales proposals, and sales presentationsVisit account(s) on a regular basis to maintain a 'strategic relationship' statusSupport sales processes, entering and managing sales activity within CRM, securing purchase orders, terms and conditions, and maintaining customer relationsBe a front-line focal point between sales and project management/construction throughout the project cycleSkills5+ years of successful outside B2B sales experience, preferably in an engineering, heavy industrial marketPreference given to candidates with a successful sales track selling electrical equipment or motor repair and services or experience selling VFD (Variable Frequency Drives) or industrial motor controlsDemonstrated ability to be self-directed and highly motivatedStrong interpersonal, communication, written and oral presentation skills and solid understanding of profitability and other financial measurementsStrong sales skills including effective negotiating skills, ability to successfully interact with key customer decision makers and influencers, and ability to prospect new customers and forecast future businessMust be able to demonstrate technical knowledge and consultative skillsRequired overnight travelAdvanced computer skills with the following software: Excel, Word, Adobe, Microsoft OutlookProficiency with CRM and lead software like Salesforce and Industrial Info ResourcesBachelor's degree is desired but not requiredCompany OverviewShermco Industries provides testing, repair, and maintenance of electrical infrastructure.
