The Business Development Manager for Coil Coatings will focus on accelerating growth in the industrial coil coatings segment by winning new business and building strategic relationships.ResponsibilitiesIdentify, target, and secure new customer accounts across the coil coatings value chainBuild and execute strategic business development plans that expand Axalta’s footprint and accelerate revenue growthConvert new opportunities into sustainable business through strong value-selling, technical credibility, and deep market insightDevelop and maintain senior-level and operational relationships with coil coaters, specifiers, service centers, and end-usersFunction as the primary commercial contact for assigned accounts, ensuring exceptional service, responsiveness, and growth alignmentPartner with customers to understand needs, qualify opportunities, and build long-term solutions that meet performance and financial goalsLead customer engagement activities including product trials, start-ups, troubleshooting, training, and ongoing account optimizationAdvise customers on product selection, performance testing, and specification requirements to drive specification wins and adoption of Axalta technologiesDeliver voice-of-customer insights to R&D, Product Management, Commercial, and Segment Strategy teams to develop or refine solutions for high-value, strategic programsOwn the full sales cycle, including opportunity tracking, forecasting, and pipeline management through Salesforce.comDrive continuous expansion of revenue and profitability across assigned accountsManage multiple projects simultaneously with disciplined follow-through and strong customer focusSkillsBachelor's degree strongly preferred10+ years of experience in industrial coatings, coil coatings, or related manufacturing/chemical sectorsProven track record of new business acquisition and strategic account development in technical or industrial marketsDeep understanding of coil coating processes, technologies, and customer workflowsExperience working cross-functionally within global or multi-cultural environmentsExceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to influence diverse stakeholdersHighly organized, self-directed, and capable of managing travel (up to 50%), and priorities with minimal supervisionProficient in Salesforce.com, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively, challenge the status quo, and drive continuous improvementProfessional presence and the ability to represent Axalta effectively at all organizational levelsCompany OverviewAxalta provides performance coatings for a wide range of industrial applications; light vehicle and commercial vehicle coatings for original equipment manufacturers; and refinish surface preparation and coating systems for body shops globally.
