[Remote] Business Development Manager

Altius Talent is partnering with a growing international freight forwarder seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive new business growth across the United States. This role focuses on winning new shipper accounts in air and ocean freight, managing the full sales cycle from prospecting to customer onboarding.ResponsibilitiesIdentify and target new shipper accounts across the USADevelop new business across air freight, ocean freight, imports, exports, and associated logistics servicesBuild a strong pipeline of qualified prospects and manage opportunities through to closeAttend customer meetings, both virtually and in personWork closely with operations and pricing teams to create competitive solutionsNegotiate commercial terms and secure profitable new accountsMaintain strong relationships with customers after onboarding to support long-term growthProvide market feedback on customer trends, competitor activity, and service opportunitiesRepresent the business professionally in the freight forwarding marketSkillsProven experience in business development within freight forwardingStrong knowledge of air and ocean freight servicesA track record of winning new business from shippersConfident prospecting, presenting, and closing new accountsCommercially sharp with the ability to sell on service, value, and reliability, not just priceStrong communication skills and a self-motivated approachAbility to work independently in a field based or remote sales environmentExisting shipper relationships would be highly advantageousExperience selling additional services such as customs brokerage, warehousing, drayage, domestic transportation, or project cargo would be beneficialCompany OverviewChosen and recognised by the industry's leading forwarders and rising independents, Altius Talent recruits across the full spectrum of global logistics.
