This role involves identifying and building new business opportunities within the medical device industry and developing go-to-market strategies to drive long-term growth.ResponsibilitiesIdentify, develop, and implement new business opportunities, solutions, and go-to-market strategies that leverage Lubrizolโ€™s value proposition in the medical device industryDevelop target market and customer strategies to drive win-win solutions for potential customers and LubrizolEducate stakeholders in the medical device industry on industry-related updates and trends through presentations and other educational activities at tradeshows and customer summitsIdentify, negotiate, and implement innovative business models to ensure Lubrizol materials and manufacturing are selected for use in next generation medical devices in our target marketsBe skilled at identifying and articulating unmet customer needs to define compelling value propositionsDevelop a strategic vision and effectively communicates persuasive business cases to executive leadershipBuild and manage an opportunity pipelineBuild in-depth relationships with potential customer organizations in the medical device industry, keeping abreast of competitive activityEvaluate product capabilities to determine potential applications as alternatives to existing materialsProvide commercial leadership to technical teams and marketing on evaluation of emerging technologiesCollaborate cross-functionally with internal departments and external partners to understand and maximize new business opportunitiesCollaborate with technology teams to transform unmet customer needs into innovative products and solutionsSkillsBachelor's degree from an accredited institution required, preference in Science, Engineering or related field10+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years in sales, new business development, or marketingProven track record as a true hunter, consistently driving new business development and aggressively pursuing opportunities to expand market shareBackground in a highly regulated industry (such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices, aerospace, or specialty chemicals), ideally with experience working with raw material suppliers for products subject to strict regulatory compliance and quality standardsAbility to convert technical expertise into actionable market insights that drive strategic partnerships and business growthProven experience training and aligning cross-functional teams (commercial, technical, leadership) on market needs, application trends, and value propositionsWillingness to travel up to 50%Commercial experience in the chemical industry, including sales or market developmentStrong knowledge of engineering polymers (e.g., Pebax, silicones, TPU, PVC)Familiarity with technical and engineering sales processes in the medical device sector and B2B relationship-buildingProficiency with sales tools and software (CRM platforms, Excel, PowerPoint) and exceptional cross-functional communication skillsBenefitsCompetitive salary with performance-based bonus plans401K Match plus Age Weighted Defined ContributionComprehensive medical, dental & vision offeringsHealth Savings AccountPaid Holidays, Vacation, and Parental LeaveFlexible work environmentCompany OverviewThe Lubrizol Corporation, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is a science-based company whose specialty chemistry delivers sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve well-being and enhance modern life.
