[Remote] Business Development

The Business Development Director will help expand the client base, strengthen referral relationships, and drive new business opportunities, particularly in trade credit insurance.ResponsibilitiesLead the end-to-end sales process, from initial discovery and needs analysis through proposal, negotiation, and policy bindingBuild an active pipeline of qualified prospects and generate leads from FGI’s strategic referral partnersAchieve established sales targets and business development goals, including new business generation, revenue growth, and pipeline developmentDevelop and maintain strong relationships with referral sources, clients, prospects, and industry partnersTrain the team in all the sales and portfolio techniques related to credit insuranceManage the relationship with all the credit insurance carriersCollaborate with the Finance and Technology teams to create cross-selling opportunitiesRepresent FGI Risk at industry conferences, trade associations, and client events to build brand visibility and develop referral networksSkillsBachelor's degree from an accredited institution required; finance, business, marketing, or communications majors preferredMinimum of 5 years of relevant business development, sales, brokerage, or risk advisory experiencePrior experience selling trade credit insurance is requiredStrong understanding of trade credit insurance products, carrier relationships, underwriting considerations, and client needsProven ability to develop relationships, generate leads, and manage a sales pipelineExcellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environmentStrong relationship-building skills with clients, referral partners, carriers, and internal stakeholdersMotivated by goals and performance metrics, with a proven ability to meet deadlinesWillingness to travel for client meetings, industry events, and business development opportunities as neededCompany OverviewFGI is a leader in the global commercial finance industry, equipping small and medium enterprises with the tools they need to enhance their business.
