[Remote] Business Analyst

This role will support Enterprise Information Management initiatives and serve as a senior Metadata Ingestion Analyst, acting as a liaison between technical IT teams and non-technical program staff.ResponsibilitiesWork with program areas, project sponsors, and system SMEs to connect cataloging and lineage systems to source systemsAutomate regular collection and updates of metadata for high-value data assetsExplain technical findings and data limitations in simple, non-technical language to end usersExtract, integrate, and analyze metadata from multiple complex internal and external sourcesCollaborate with end users, performance analysts, and IT leaders to create visualizations for enrichment progress and reportingProvide subject matter expertise in validating AI-generated outputs and identifying and mitigating hallucinationsEnsure all data outputs adhere to reporting standards, data governance requirements, and compliance regulationsDevelop and conduct training sessions for non-technical staff on data glossary concepts and toolsCreate clear documentation and tutorials for glossary tools and data synthesis processesPromote a data-driven culture by enabling employees to effectively utilize metadata and AIWork closely with data engineering, IT, and program teams to troubleshoot metadata-related issues and address inconsistenciesProvide guidance to program staff on interpreting data trends and answering complex data questionsStay current with emerging AI and metadata analysis tools and techniques to improve data quality, reporting, and glossary managementDevelop and refine AI prompts and query strategies to accurately retrieve and synthesize metadata from complex data domainsGuide non-technical users in crafting effective prompts to obtain accurate glossary informationDevelop and maintain a library of standardized prompts and query templates for common reporting needsSkillsBachelor's degree in related field8 years of experience gathering business requirements and translating complex metadata acquisitions and operational requirements into actionable data glossary access paths8 years of experience explaining technical findings and data limitations to non-technical users and leadership8 years of experience in complex data analysis, senior business/systems analysis, and/or data liaison roles8 years of strong SQL experience for data extraction, manipulation, and enrichment8 years of experience collaborating with end users, performance analysts, and IT leaders to create and validate glossaries and support business data lineage analysisExcellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills5 years of experience with Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse environments5 years of experience serving as the primary point of contact for metadata/glossary needs on analytics projects5 years of experience working in health and human services or similarly regulated environments5 years of experience with data governance and data quality principles5 years of experience with data glossary tools such as Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC) and Axon Data Governance2 years of experience championing data literacy initiatives2 years of experience training and mentoring staff with varying levels of data literacy1 year of experience with AI prompt developmentBenefitsMedical, dental, vision, and life insuranceCompany OverviewBEPC Incorporated provides Technical Engineering and Information Technology Project Management services to Fortune 500 companies in the industries: Life Science, Engineering, Manufacturing, Information Technologies, Advanced Technologies, Automotive, and Construction.
