The role involves mechanical design, FEA, testing, and documentation of new products, as well as support for existing products in the semiconductor industry.ResponsibilitiesConduct research and create designs for new product developmentsUse SolidWorks CAD software to design, model, validate (FEA) and performing drafting/documentation of product designs and conceptsUtilize knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials and other physical sciences to complete product designsIdentify and select materials needed for productionDefine test plans and provide direction for product testing with support of lab staffProduce final drawings, specifications and perform production release process in PDM systemWork with production staff to develop and implement a production process for new and existing productsSupport the production manufacturing process as needed to assure all products meet necessary requirements and customer expectationsAct as a manufacturing process engineer as requiredUnderstand how one’s decisions affect product cost, performance, and qualitySkillsBachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering and 7+ years of experience in a technical role as an engineerExperience with CNC machining, sheet metal, injection molding, tight tolerance components, etcProficient user of CAD/3D solid modeling tools - SolidWorks 2018 or newer preferredExperience with closed-loop refrigeration systems, pneumatic actuation, automation, thermocouples, RTDs, power supplies, fans, and thermoelectric coolers a plusCompany OverviewBoyd is a energy management and environmental sealing solutions for large OEMs. It was founded in 1928, and is headquartered in Pleasanton, California, USA, with a workforce of 5001-10000 employees.
