Remote Bookkeeper/Staff Accountant for U.S. CPA Firm | Long-Term Growth Opportunity

We're Basta & Company, a San Francisco-based CPA firm serving real estate and construction clients nationwide. We need a skilled bookkeeper/staff accountant in Colombia who wants to do more than data entry—someone who can own client relationships and deliver proactive, accurate work. What You'll Do: - Own monthly bookkeeping for multiple U.S. clients using QuickBooks Online and Keeper - Communicate directly with clients—answer questions, solve problems, build trust - Ensure accurate books and timely month-end closes - Respond to requests quickly (speed + accuracy are critical) - Identify issues proactively and bring solutions - Work independently using cloud tools: QBO, Keeper(Double now), Karbon, Slack, MS 365 What We Need: - English conversation (written and spoken)—regular client communication- Expert-level QuickBooks Online and Keeper experience (non-negotiable) - Master QBO: all features, bank feeds, reconciliation, reports, payroll, and 1099s.- Strong client service skills—you make people feel heard and supported - Detail-oriented with the ability to work fast - Self-motivated and resourceful—figure things out before asking - Experience working remotely with U.S.clients - Experience with AI and ChatGPT What You Get: - $10–17/hour depending on experience + performance bonuses - 30-40 hours/week to start, room to expand - PST-aligned schedule with flexibility - Long-term opportunity with a growing firm - Work directly with the CEO and clients—no layers of bureaucracy - Supportive team that values your inputThis Role Is NOT for You If: - You just want to do data entry without client interaction - You need constant supervision or hand-holding - You're not comfortable making decisions independently To Apply: - In your proposal, tell us about a specific time you handled a challenging client question or accounting issue—what was the problem and how did you solve it?- Include a short video introduction (2-3 min) if possible—tell us about yourself and why you're the right fit.
