[Remote] Backend Software Engineer - US Remote

They are seeking a Backend Software Engineer with strong TypeScript and NestJS expertise to design, build, and scale backend services that process large volumes of transactions and data.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain backend services using TypeScript and NestJSArchitect and implement scalable APIs, integrations, and event-driven systemsBuild and optimize high-throughput workflows that process large volumes of transactions and dataDesign data models, service architectures, and integration patterns for complex distributed systemsDevelop reliable asynchronous processing systems using queues, workers, and background jobsCollaborate with Product and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutionsImprove platform reliability, performance, and operational efficiencyImplement observability best practices, including logging, monitoring, metrics, tracing, and alertingContribute to API design, developer experience, documentation, and internal toolingParticipate in architectural discussions and influence long-term platform strategyLeverage modern AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and code qualityTake ownership of projects from design through deployment and ongoing optimizationSkills4+ years of professional backend software engineering experienceStrong proficiency in TypeScript and experience building production systems with NestJS or similar Node.js frameworksProven experience designing and building scalable APIs and backend servicesStrong understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and asynchronous processingExperience integrating with third-party APIs, webhooks, and external platformsSolid system design skills and the ability to architect solutions that handle significant scale and complexityExperience working with observability tools, monitoring systems, and production troubleshootingStrong understanding of software engineering best practices, testing, and maintainabilityExcellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teamsA proactive, ownership-driven mindset with the ability to work independently in a remote environmentExperience with queue management and background job processing tools such as BullMQ or similar technologiesFamiliarity with Next.js or modern frontend frameworksExperience building high-volume transactional or integration-heavy systemsExposure to cloud infrastructure and DevOps best practicesExperience working in startup or high-growth environmentsKnowledge of distributed architectures, microservices, and platform engineering conceptsExperience using AI-powered development tools as part of your engineering workflowCompany OverviewPragmatike is a remote tech job platform that helps companies hire tech talent.
