[Remote] Backend Engineer

They are seeking a Backend Engineer to maintain their clinical validation engine and build new data pipelines, focusing on integrating health data APIs and improving product data matching.ResponsibilitiesExtending and improving a Python-based validation engine that compares supplement products against clinical trial dataIntegrating external health data APIs for drug-supplement interaction checkingImproving how our system matches product label ingredients to clinical database entriesCleaning and normalizing health product data (fixing unit formats, handling edge cases, validating schemas)Building API endpoints that our chatbot and frontend consumeWorking with structured health data including dosages, formulations, and published study referencesSkillsPython experience (Pydantic, database libraries, environment management)Comfortable with PostgreSQL (queries, indexing, working with extensions)Experience consuming and integrating REST APIsAble to work with data pipelines (pulling, transforming, validating, and storing structured data)Comfortable reading and extending existing code rather than building from scratchInterest in health tech is a plus but not requiredExperience with vector databasesFamiliarity with Google Sheets API or similar data source integrationsAny experience with clinical or health-related dataCompany OverviewAudit your supplements and map your environment.
