They are seeking an AWS Cloud Systems Engineer to modernize a global-scale multi-cloud environment in support of the Department of the Air Force, focusing on AWS Engineering and cloud solutions.ResponsibilitiesDesign and architect scalable, resilient, and secure cloud solutions across AWS and othersDevelop cloud strategy and roadmaps aligned with organization objectives and technical requirementsEvaluate emerging cloud technologies and assess their potential impact on organizational goalsDrive adoption of DevOps practices, infrastructure as code, and automation frameworksOptimize application performance and reliability in cloud environmentsDesign secure cloud architectures implementing zero-trust principles and defense-in-depth strategiesEnsure compliance with industry standards (SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, etc.) and regulatory requirementsImplement / integrate with identity and access management solutions and security monitoring frameworksFacilitate customer onboarding and implement a consistent pathway to cloud adoptionManage and optimize AWS, networking, VPNs, IaaS, PaaS, and SQL systemsImplement and maintain tools and services such as Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Jira, Confluence, Artifactory, and Guacamole to support DevSecOps practicesContainerize applications to enhance scalability and deployment efficiencySupport the design and development of Shared ServicesConfigure and troubleshoot cloud, virtual, and physical hardware and software systemsEstablish and maintain SQL and NoSQL databases, ensuring their performance and reliabilityPrepare detailed technical documentation to support development and operational processesConduct security assessments and remediate vulnerabilities in cloud environmentsCollaborate with cross-functional teams including development, operations, security, and product managementCreate reference architectures, design patterns, and technical standards for cloud implementationsSkillsBachelor's Degree and 8+ years or more of experience; Master's and 6+ years or more of experience, additional years of experience may be accepted in lieu of degreeMust have a Secret ClearanceShip requiredCertifications: CompTIA Security+ or equivalent (IAT-2)Excellent customer service skills, with experience working in a customer-facing positionStrong understanding Active Directory, Azure AD, SAML and the standards, procedures, and processesExcellent verbal and written communications skillsExperience with Ansible, AWS console, Elastic, Jira, Confluence, Git, and multiple AWS cloud Software as a Service (SaaS) offeringsExperience onboarding customer log-data from cloud platforms to on-premises or cloud-based analysis environments such as Elastic or SplunkBenefitsPaid time off (PTO)Flexible schedulesDiscounted stock purchase plansCareer growthEducation and training supportParental paid leaveCompany OverviewDice is a job-searching platform for technology professionals.
