[Remote] Automotive Office Manager/Controller
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Lithia & Driveway is a Fortune 500 company and one of the largest automotive retailers in North America. The Automotive Office Manager/Controller will oversee dealership financial records, ensure compliance with financial policies, and manage a team while contributing to strategic budgeting and M&A activities.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Financial Oversight: Maintain dealership financial records, ensure accurate month-end closings, and review general ledger schedules
ā¢ Compliance & Controls: Monitor operational income statements, conduct fraud prevention reviews, and ensure adherence to internal controls and LAD financial policies
ā¢ Cash Flow & Banking: Oversee accounts receivable collections, daily bank postings, and bank reconciliations
ā¢ Payroll & Payables: Review or prepare payroll and accounts payable for accuracy and timeliness
ā¢ Inventory & Fixed Assets: Conduct physical vehicle inventories, reconcile parts inventory, and support fixed asset reporting
ā¢ Title & Registration: Resolve issues related to inbound and outbound vehicle documentation
ā¢ Leadership & Collaboration: Partner with dealership leadership (especially the GM), manage a team of 2ā10 staff, and support hiring, training, and performance management
ā¢ Manufacturer Relations: Ensure compliance with manufacturer programs, warranty claims, and reporting requirements
ā¢ Strategic Contributions: Participate in budgeting (up to $8MM), support stores with up to $200MM in revenue, and contribute to M&A activities
Skills
ā¢ Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or 3+ years of dealership accounting experience (required)
ā¢ Strong attention to detail, urgency, and communication
ā¢ Proficiency in accounting processes, reconciliation, and financial analysis
ā¢ Ability to interpret financial results and recommend actions
ā¢ High School graduate or equivalent required
ā¢ 18 years or older
