As an Auto Damages Adjuster, you will investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and adjust claims while supporting customers through the damages process, all in a remote capacity.ResponsibilitiesInvestigate, evaluate, negotiate and adjust low to moderately complex claims presented by or against our insureds to confirm coverage, determine legal liability, and equitably settle/defend in compliance with all state regulatory requirementsManage and support the customer through the damages process for both repairable and total lossLook for recovery opportunities and pursue them when appropriateWork with a great deal of autonomy and make decisions to effectively and efficiently resolve claimsRecognize life events, understand customer's needs and provide advice to deliver appropriate solutions to the customerProvide claims service via various channels to policy holders and third-party customersHandle low to moderately complex auto claimsAcquire and apply basic knowledge of Property & Casualty insurance industry products, services, and processes to include P&C insurance policy contracts and coverages and the General Motors Insurance claims handling processes and proceduresSeek guidance from team members to resolve issues and identify appropriate issues for escalationPartner with and/or directs vendors and internal business partners to facilitate claims resolutionContribute to business goals, performance metrics, and effectively uses tools & technologySupport workload surges and/or catastrophe operations as neededSkillsHigh School Diploma or equivalent required0-2 years of auto claims adjusting experience requiredInsurance Adjuster License requiredYou have experience in an inbound phone-intensive, contact center environment using a headsetYou possess knowledge of how to build lasting relationships with internal and external customers and business partnersYou are computer literate in a Windows operation environment and can navigate and work in multiple systems simultaneouslyYou have strong written and verbal communication skillsYou are able to implement and adapt to rapid change and be creative, innovative and have a forward-thinking mindsetBachelor's Degree in related field preferred1 year of customer service experience preferred1 year of customer contact experience preferredGuidewire ClaimCenter experience strongly preferredBenefits401K matchingBonding leave for new parents (12 weeks, 100% paid)Tuition assistanceTrainingGM employee auto discountCommunity service payNine company holidaysCompany OverviewGM Financial is the captive finance company and a wholly-owned subsidiary of General Motors Company.
