The role involves conducting audits, producing intelligence analysis reports, and investigating misconduct and fraud allegations to promote accountability within the department.ResponsibilitiesSupport audits of a complex, highly sensitive and investigative natureProduce Intelligence Analysis Reports, including supporting graphs, figures, and chartsWrite reports in accordance with DHS OIG audit procedures and the Government Accountability Office’s Yellow Book standardsPrepare various types of reports, briefings, and testimonyConduct research for and prepare proposals for various types of DHS auditsConduct investigative research and analysisUse databases to investigate misconduct and fraud allegationsInvestigate claims suspected of being fraudulentPerform discovery and analysis in support of criminal investigations, write investigative action reports, and review closed investigations to conduct data trend analysesDevelop new approaches where no precedents exist and creative solutions to any problems encounteredSkillsB.A. or B.S. in Intelligence Studies, Political Science, Criminal Justice, Computer Science, Economics, or a similar field of studyThe ability to obtain a TS/SCI security clearanceReport-writing experienceExperience researching and analyzing information drawn from a variety of sources, such as programs, case studies, and policies, to draw conclusions and write reportsM.A. or M.S. degree in one of the aforementioned fields of studyAn active TS/SCI security clearanceExperience supporting or conducting audits for a federal government agencyBenefitsHealth InsuranceDental InsuranceVision InsuranceLong-term and Short-term Disability InsuranceLife Insurance401(k) PlanHoliday PayPaid Time OffCompany OverviewFWI (FedWriters, Inc.) is a professional writing, research, and communications company that helps government and commercial customers develop and manage a range of projects and products.
