[Remote] Associate Software Engineer (IT Operations & AI Development)

The Associate Software Engineer role supports IT Operations automation, AI development, and compliance efforts, working closely with various teams to enhance operational efficiency and compliance practices.ResponsibilitiesDevelop AI-based proofs of concept that support productivity and innovation objectivesAutomate manual and operational IT processes, including report reconciliation and file status dashboardsBuild and maintain automated workflows that reduce manual overhead and improve operational visibilityContribute to AI development and software engineering efforts across IT OperationsAssist in maintaining and strengthening the organization's SOC2 and HIPAA compliance postureSupport compliance documentation, evidence gathering, and process alignment for audit readinessInvestigate and troubleshoot operational and production issuesQuickly learn and apply new tools to translate ideas into working solutionsServe as a cross-functional contributor bridging operations, compliance, and innovationDevelop and maintain clear documentation of processes, automations, and solutionsSkills2 - 4 years in software engineering, IT operations, or a related technical role (relevant internship experience considered)Experience automating manual or operational workflowsExposure to AI/ML tools and the ability to build working proofs of conceptAbility to work effectively across engineering, operations, and compliance teamsStrong communication skills and high responsivenessDemonstrated accountability and ownership beyond assigned tasksHigh learning agility and a problem-solving mindsetBachelor's degree required; degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferredExperience supporting SOC2 and/or HIPAA compliance initiativesExperience with healthcare data or other regulated environmentsFamiliarity with scripting and automation toolsExperience building dashboards or reporting automationsBackground in cross-functional or operationally embedded engineering rolesCompany OverviewBelong Health works with local health plans to provide regionally informed, humanistic care to a rapidly expanding community of need.
