They are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in data center mechanical design to manage client relationships, oversee engineering projects, and mentor junior engineers. The role involves increasing market share and profitability while delivering comprehensive mechanical design solutions for hyper-scale data centers.ResponsibilitiesManage innovation projects and prepare concept and product presentationsOversee qualification, verification and validation of system level functionality, performance, safety and ensure quality are in line with the company mechanical engineering processParticipate in scoping, provide solution and delivery of change requests within budget and to the agreed functionalityAssist in the development of project plans by scoping mechanical-related tasks including labor and materials requirementsParticipate in regularly scheduled department meetings to report on project status, prepare and give design presentations, and mentor junior engineersLead engineering design analysis, provide guidance, supervision, review and validation of mechanical drawing and drafting packagesEnsure orderly coordination including reviews of all design input and output at the Conceptual design, draft Review stage, final approval stagePartner with internal and external teams to develop mechanical solutionsPreform as client stakeholder primary contact to engineering, procurement and construction contractor, general contractors, sub-contractor, vendor, suppliers and service providersManage and administer client engineering design services orders, change orders coordinating accounts payable and receivablesMentor engineering staff on best practices, market trends, and client needsDeliver conceptual designs of the mechanical infrastructure for greenfield and brownfield data centersRecommend and implement engineering changes to accommodate customer mechanical expansions, retrofits and upgradesLeads mechanical engineering design, project development and project proposal preparationCoordinate design integration of subsystems to create a complete productPerform calculations, in activities related to product, form, test fits, mechanical requirements and function supporting project requirementsDesign and development of mechanical equipment drawings, specifications of Chillers, Cooling Towers, Fluid Coolers, Pumps, Piping & Accessories and SystemsProduce calculations and functional design deployment of CRAC, CRAH & Direct Expansion (DX) unitsProduce engineering design analysis for deployment of liquid cooling distribution units (CDU), central cooling plants, water-cooled and air-cooled chillers, and towersOversee, prepare and review of design documents for air-side and liquid cooled systems, Drawings, BOMs, SCL, CCA, Technical Specifications, Over-Pressure Protection and Design / Stress ReportsEngineering analysis of plant water treatment & chemical injection solutionTechnically evaluate equipment quotations, reviews supplier Bill of Materials, equipment data packages and validate assembly drawingsComplete familiarization with National, State, and Municipal Codes and Standards integrationDemonstrate a passion for expert knowledge driving market trends the latest technology development and innovations in cooling solutionsCollect and interpret market, competitor and technology intelligenceProvide solution design, sizing for airside and water-side economizers and cooling distribution unitsAble to perform product functional analysis and provide technical support to others performing functional analysisDemonstrate ability to interpret advanced mass & energy modeling analyzing hydraulic and CFD thermal flowsWork collaboratively with the business unit managing principal and the technology division leadership team and set team and personal goals, establish objectives, and monitor plan of action consistent with company’s strategy and cultureSupervise the engineering contractors, vendors, subcontractors to implement all defined installation drawing, standards, and best practice as required in each project phaseAbility to manage multiple projects and project deadlines and work independentlyHelp prepare and manage toward the approved annual team’s operating and capital budgets and maintain the overall operation within that budget.
