The Associate Director of Strategic Planning & Operations will manage projects and initiatives in the Global Quality portfolio, ensuring successful execution and lifecycle management of continuous improvement and strategic projects.ResponsibilitiesPartner with cross functional senior management to ensure successful execution, tracking and value realization of critical initiatives and projects aligned with Global Quality GxP operating modelStand up, own and facilitate governance and processes intended to advance Global Quality strategy and objectivesPerform analysis to identify improvement opportunities and make recommendations to managementApply emerging technologies, such as AI, to the lifecycle management of global Quality projects and strategic initiativesAnalyze critical path items and constraints to schedules, recommending solutions to remove any roadblocks using a proactive approachIdentify core KPIs aligned with pivotal initiatives and projectsProvide leadership to key initiatives and strategic projects, including driving program management, content creation, and presentationContinuously track and communicate progress and adherence to strategic initiatives and projectsSkillsDoctorate degree and 3 years of Quality and/or Operational Excellence experience ORMaster's degree and 5 years of Quality and/or Operational Excellence experience ORBachelor's degree and 7 years of Quality and/or Operational Excellence experience ORAssociate's degree and 12 years of Quality and/or Operational Excellence experience ORHigh school diploma / GED and 14 years of Quality and/or Operational Excellence experienceDirect experience partnering with and influencing leadership and customersDirect experience in cross-functional business operations and strategic project management roleAbility to effectively present ideas and document complex concepts and processes in both written & oral communicationUnderstanding of Quality and GxPDemonstrated ability to execute and manage complex projects and programsExperience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, KaizenUnderstanding of emerging technologies, such as AI, and their application to day-to-day activitiesStrong and broad understanding of Global Quality functional interdependenciesHighly structured and organizedDemonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers and supporting functions (e.g., Technology, Finance)Adapting and thriving in a rapidly changing and fast-moving environmentModels good Decision-making behaviors and reinforces proper decision making and meeting management according to DAI frameworkIndependent, motivated, and proactive team member with experience in a matrixed, highly fluid environmentAbility to foster collaboration, work effectively on cross-functional teams and consistently deliver on-time while serving as a role model for Amgen values and leadership attributeBenefitsA comprehensive employee benefits package, including a Retirement and Savings Plan with generous company contributions, group medical, dental and vision coverage, life and disability insurance, and flexible spending accountsA discretionary annual bonus program, or for field sales representatives, a sales-based incentive planStock-based long-term incentivesAward-winning time-off plansFlexible work models where possible.
