[Remote] Associate Director of Financial Reporting

They are seeking an experienced Associate Director of Financial Reporting to lead financial reporting, manage audits, and ensure compliance in a complex financial environment.ResponsibilitiesLead daily activities across financial reporting, external audit, and tax compliance functionsServe as the primary point of contact for external auditors and reporting subject matter expert for managementManage the annual external audit plan in coordination with external auditorsOversee the annual tax return calendar, including coordination with external tax advisorsManage all tax filings including the annual 990, state filings, and miscellaneous returnsCoordinate monthly close reporting across entities, the budget team, finance, and subsidiariesMaintain effective internal control procedures over financial reporting and tax processesDevelop and maintain accounting policies and process documentationAct as a resource to management to identify risks and strengthen internal controlsIdentify technology and process improvement opportunities to enhance reporting efficiencyParticipate in financial, operational, compliance, and technology audits as neededSkills7+ years of experience in financial reporting, public accounting, or a related fieldActive Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license requiredStrong knowledge of nonprofit accounting standards and tax requirements (State and Federal)Experience managing external audit engagements and serving as primary auditor liaisonProficiency with accounting software and inter-fund accounting for subsidiary entitiesAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with the Microsoft Office SuiteHighly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneouslyStrong analytical and mathematical aptitude with exceptional attention to detailEffective communicator and collaborative team player across all levels of an organizationBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field requiredCPA certification requiredPrior experience in a nonprofit organization strongly preferredFamiliarity with 990 tax filing preparation and coordination with external tax advisorsExperience with multi-entity or subsidiary accounting structuresMaster's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldMaster's degree optionalBenefitsContract engagement with potential for extension based on performance and organizational needCompany OverviewCatapult Federal Services is headquartered in Plano, TX, with its primary business operations office located in the greater Washington, D.C. area.
