The Applications Engineer role serves as a technical liaison, providing necessary engineering calculations and recommendations to support customer requirements while ensuring operational excellence.ResponsibilitiesServes as a technical liaison between Sales, Pricing, Engineering and Manufacturing teams on behalf of the customerProvides necessary engineering calculations and makes recommendations to support customer requirementsProvides Engineering expertise to translate customer's needs into manufacturable productsProblem solves application and customer design issues prior to P.O, as neededSupport operational excellence and industry needs – equipment, software, etcParticipate in technological and engineering forums within ABTDevelop preliminary designs to support pricing and early-stage design activitiesResearch and recommend solutions for specialty BOM items on an as-needed basisDesigns and supervises prototype builds for customer applications on an as-needed basisPerforms other tasks assigned by ManagerSkillsMinimum 4 years engineering experience with similar products or industry practicesStrong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with customersExperience in reviewing technical data packages including, but not limited to drawings and bill of materialsExcellent Problem Solving, Statistical and Analytical skillsExcellent computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office applicationsAbility to understand and work with multiple engineering disciplinesStrong organizational skillsAbility to occasionally lift up to 50 poundsAnticipated travel of 5-15%Prefer BS in STEM, Engineering or related fieldPrefer experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, etc.)Prefer experience with industry standards (IPC, DO-160, MIL-STD-810, etc.)Company OverviewAmphenol Borisch Technologies, Inc. operates as an electronics manufacturer serving the aerospace and defense industries.
