They are seeking an Application Engineer to support the growth of their water and wastewater treatment business by developing innovative treatment solutions and collaborating with various teams to improve water infrastructure and environmental sustainability.ResponsibilitiesDevelop technical proposals, cost estimates, and equipment pricing for municipal and industrial water treatment projectsSupport bid and tender submissions by preparing technical documentation, specifications, pricing, and required bid materialsServe as a technical advisor to consulting engineers, contractors, municipalities, end users, and sales representativesCollaborate with project management, engineering, manufacturing, and service teams to ensure successful project executionReview and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documentsSupport the transition of awarded projects to project management and engineering teamsRespond to customer inquiries and provide timely technical guidance throughout the sales processUtilize engineering and sales tools including CRM systems, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and proprietary treatment selection softwareMaintain accurate customer and project information within SalesforceStay current on treatment technologies, industry trends, and product developments through ongoing training and professional developmentParticipate in industry organizations, local water initiatives, and cross-functional training opportunitiesSkillsBachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline3+ years of experience in the water and wastewater treatment industry or a related technical fieldStrong understanding of engineering principles, equipment selection, and technical proposal developmentAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and bid documentsExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailStrong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholdersExperience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentProficiency with Microsoft Office applications and CRM softwareSelf-motivated with a strong desire to learn, contribute, and achieve resultsExperience participating in municipal or industrial bidding/tendering processesHands-on experience with controls, electrical panels, instrumentation, or mechanical equipmentExperience with Salesforce or other CRM platformsExposure to water treatment process design, equipment applications, or treatment technologiesBenefitsPaid Volunteer Program, Xylem WatermarkEmployee Resource Groups (ERG)Reasonable accommodations to enable all employees to perform their essential job functionsCompany OverviewXylem is the global leader in advanced technologies, solutions and services that address the worldβs biggest water challenges.
