This role involves developing technically sound compressor offerings, supporting sales through technical discussions, and collaborating with partners to ensure successful integration of compressors into systems.ResponsibilitiesReview customer equipment requirements, specifications, and process conditions to determine appropriate application of screw compressor technologyPerform engineering analysis and equipment selection to ensure compressors and associated systems meet customer requirements, company engineering standards, and applicable industry codesDevelop technically sound compressor offerings from concept through proposal submission with minimal technical supervisionPrepare technical proposals including compressor selections, performance data, technical descriptions, and supporting documentationWork closely with Sales to support customer engagement, including technical discussions, clarification meetings, and specification reviewCollaborate with compressor package partners, system integrators, and internal engineering teams to ensure successful integration of bare shaft compressors into packaged systemsEvaluate supplier capabilities and coordinate with internal resources for additional components or subsystemsEnsure proposals contain clear and accurate scope definitions to support a smooth transition from sales to project executionProvide technical feedback from market engagement and project experience to support continuous improvement of products, processes, and toolsSupport development of screw compressor applications across key market segments by working with Sales and package partnersSupport internal training and knowledge sharing related to screw compressor applications and best practicesOther duties as assignedSkillsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related engineering disciplineExperience with rotating equipment or gas compression systemsWorking knowledge of gas handling processes and compressor system integrationAbility to review technical specifications and translate process conditions into equipment selectionsWillingness to travel to support customer engagement and partner relationshipsStrong technical aptitude and problem-solving abilityAbility to interpret process conditions and translate them into technically sound equipment selectionsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work effectively with Sales, engineering teams, suppliers, and external partnersWorking knowledge of engineering calculation tools and standard office softwareAwareness of company safety procedures and quality standardsExperience with screw compressors or other positive displacement compression technologiesExperience working with compressor packagers or system integratorsFamiliarity with API 619, API 614, and IIAR standards where applicableExperience supporting proposal development in an industrial equipment environmentCompany OverviewChart Industries, Inc.
