[Remote] Application Engineer

Forgent Power Solutions, Inc. is seeking an Applications Engineer who provides advanced technical expertise to support customers, sales teams, and internal departments. This role involves handling complex applications, developing engineered solutions, and leading technical discussions with customers while mentoring junior team members.ResponsibilitiesReview complex customer specifications, drawings, and requirements to develop accurate and feasible product solutionsServe as a technical expert for internal teams and key customers, providing guidance on product capabilities, system applications, and integrationCreate detailed technical proposals, product configurations, and supporting documentation for large or complex projectsCollaborate with sales, engineering, manufacturing, and product management to ensure proposed solutions align with company capabilities and customer needsRecommend alternative designs, cost-effective options, or custom solutions to support customer requirementsSupport pre-sales activities, including customer presentations, meetings, and technical Q&A sessionsTroubleshoot advanced application challenges and assist with resolving customer technical issuesLead or contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for tools, templates, workflows, and application processesPrepare and review submittals, manuals, drawings, and other technical documentationStay current on industry trends, competitor offerings, product updates, and emerging technologiesProvide mentorship, guidance, and training to junior Applications EngineersSkillsBachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field) or equivalent technical experience5+ years of experience in applications engineering, sales engineering, technical support, or related technical roleMust have design and/or field service experienceStrong ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical requirementsProven experience supporting complex or engineered-to-order product solutionsExcellent communication, customer-facing, and presentation skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesProficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with ERP, CRM, or quoting systemsAbility to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentExperience in manufacturing, electrical power distribution, automation, controls, or industrial equipmentKnowledge of applicable industry codes, standards, and certification requirementsAdvanced skills with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) or technical drawing reviewExperience developing technical documentation, tools, or training materialsFamiliarity with pricing strategies, value engineering, and cost estimationLeadership or mentoring experienceCompany OverviewForgent Power is a leading U.S. It was founded in 2025, and is headquartered in Dayton, Minnesota, USA, with a workforce of 1001-5000 employees.
