Remote Agronomist - Sustainable Agriculture

Our client, a forward-thinking agricultural technology company, is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Agronomist to join their innovative, fully remote team. This role focuses on promoting and implementing sustainable agricultural practices across diverse farming operations. You will work closely with farmers and agricultural professionals nationwide, providing expert advice on crop management, soil health, pest and disease control, water conservation, and the integration of precision agriculture technologies. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in agronomy, a passion for environmental stewardship, and excellent communication and advisory skills. This position is entirely remote, allowing you to contribute from anywhere in the US.

Key Responsibilities: Provide expert agronomic advice and technical support to farmers and agricultural producers via remote channels (video calls, phone, email). Develop customized crop management plans focused on sustainability, yield optimization, and resource efficiency. Assess soil health, nutrient management, and water usage, recommending best practices. Advise on integrated pest management (IPM) strategies and disease control methods. Educate clients on the benefits and implementation of precision agriculture technologies (e.g., GPS, sensors, drones). Monitor agricultural trends, research advancements, and regulatory changes relevant to sustainable farming. Assist clients in selecting appropriate crop varieties and seed treatments. Develop educational materials and conduct webinars on sustainable agronomic practices. Analyze farm data (yield, soil tests, weather) to provide data-driven recommendations. Promote the adoption of regenerative agriculture principles and practices. Collaborate with the client's research and development teams on new product and technology initiatives. Maintain accurate records of client interactions, recommendations, and outcomes. Foster strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor for their agricultural operations.
Qualifications: Master's degree in Agronomy, Soil Science, Crop Science, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in agronomy, crop advising, or a similar agricultural consulting role. Proven understanding of sustainable and regenerative farming principles. Knowledge of crop physiology, soil science, integrated pest management, and irrigation techniques. Experience with precision agriculture tools and data analysis is highly desirable. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. Proficiency in using digital collaboration tools and remote communication platforms. Ability to work independently and manage client relationships remotely. Familiarity with common agricultural software and data management systems. Certification as a Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) is a plus.
