The role involves procedure documentation, efficiency assessments, and the execution of DFSS/DMAIC projects, focusing on continuous quality improvement and cost reduction strategies.ResponsibilitiesProcedure documentationEfficiency assessments (process capability, cycle-time, downtime data with impact categorization, and FTC monitoring)DFSS/DMAIC project executionImplementation of lean process methodologiesContinuous quality-improvement strategiesAutonomous mitigation/prevention of test issues aimed at both quality improvements and cost reductionsSkillsBachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET or CEAB Accredited UniversityCEAB (Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board) should be equivalent to ABET for US based universitiesMinimum of 2 years hands-on experience in defining and/or applying process improvement techniques for Key Performance Indicators (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Morale)Experience with full process quality deployment and optimization in a high-paced production or test environmentStrong communication skills, both verbal and writtenExperience with engineering standard measurement techniques and tools (MS Office Suite, Minitab, SPC, distributions, etc.)Experienced with developing MS -Excel macrosProficiency with: DFSS/DMAIC/Six-Sigma and Root-cause analysis tools (PFMEA, 8D, 5S, Kaizen, Gage R&R, ANOVA, ISO-17025)Master of Science degree from an ABET accredited universityExperience in project management including MS ProjectStrong facilitation, mentoring, and coaching skills working with individuals and groupsDemonstrated experience communicating effectively to senior level management a plusProficiency with relational databases (i.e. DB2).
