They are seeking an Adjunct Faculty member to provide instructional support for a course on Content and Pedagogy for Teaching Probability, Data Analysis, & Statistics, focusing on mathematics content and pedagogy for teacher candidates.ResponsibilitiesProvide course instruction through online platforms, including Zoom and the Learning Management SystemGuide candidates in analyzing student thinking, identifying misconceptions, and designing responsive instruction focused on data displays, variability, likelihood, inference, and interpreting quantitative information across grade levelsMaintain regular communication with candidates, evaluate assignments, provide meaningful written feedback, assign grades in the LMS, and contribute to course and program improvement through participation in faculty and advisory board meetingsSkillsA minimum of five years of full-time experience as a Pā12 mathematics teacher in a diverse school settingExperience in teacher education or leadership related to mathematics teaching and learningCandidates must hold a California Clear Credential in Foundational or Single Subject Mathematics with English Learner Authorization, or equivalentGraduate-level online teaching experienceA PhD, EdD, or equivalent degree in an education-related fieldCurrent knowledge of California adopted Pā12 mathematics content standards, frameworks, and accountability systemsAbility to work effectively with diverse groupsStrong professional practice in teaching, learning, scholarship, and serviceSkill in supporting candidates' planning, diagnosis of mathematics difficulties, and development of instructional responsesExperience teaching through Zoom and a Learning Management SystemCompany OverviewUniversity of Southern California is a private research university offering opportunities for interdisciplinary study and collaboration.
