[Remote] Actuarial Analyst I

The role involves developing recommendations, performing profitability calculations, and participating in cross-functional teams to improve operational results.ResponsibilitiesDevelops actionable recommendations to management relative to all analysisCalculates profitability reports on appropriate business segmentsPerforms regular and ad-hoc analysis to identify opportunities to improve efficiency and affordabilityPerforms regular and ad-hoc analysis/studies to evaluate assumptions used in other processesParticipates in cross functional teams to address key issues facing the organizationPrepares monthly calculation of the company's IBNR reservesEvaluates government reimbursement process to determine areas of risk and opportunityParticipates in initiatives to improve operating resultsInitiates key analysis to improve overall MLR resultsPerforms other duties as assignedSkillsBachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, economics or a related field is requiredA minimum of one exam passed under the Society of Actuaries Exam Syllabus is required; exam SRM via transition credit does not meet this requirementActive pursuit of an actuarial designation (ASA) is requiredIntermediate interpersonal/verbal communication skills and a high level of professionalismIntermediate written communication skillsIntermediate ability to work independently and within a team environmentIntermediate ability to work in fast paced environment with changing prioritiesIntermediate ability to remain calm under pressureIntermediate proficiency level with Microsoft ExcelIntermediate proficiency with Microsoft Suite to include, Word, Power Point and OutlookBasic ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from peers and managementBasic ability to analyze and interpret financial data in order to coordinate the preparation of financial recordsEffective problem-solving skills with attention to detailEffective listening and critical thinking skillsStrong database (SAS or Access) experience is preferredManaged Care or healthcare experience is preferredBasic knowledge of SQL, SAS, R, or other data manipulation softwareBenefitsIn addition to base compensation, you may qualify for a bonus tied to company and individual performance.We are highly invested in every employee’s total well-being and offer a substantial and comprehensive total rewards package.Company OverviewCareSource provides managed care services to Medicaid beneficiaries.
