The role involves providing case management for accommodation requests related to life events, ensuring compliance with laws and policies, and serving as a point of contact for employees throughout their leave of absence or disability events.ResponsibilitiesInitiate and respond to inquiries about accommodation events, benefits, and options available to employeesServe as a point of contact for assigned employees to provide holistic case management services, including reviewing medical documentation in compliance with the corresponding, federal and state laws and policy as defined by AmazonLeverage duration guidelines, best practice tools and Amazon resources to support oversight of aan accommodation as appropriateCritically assess and adjust the case management plan to an employee’s changing needsAddress and respond to sensitive situationsTroubleshoot issues and seek to remove barriers before, during, or after a leave eventRespond to employee impacting issues that may arise during the leave event and ensure the right communication occursIdentify and solve problems that may arise, sometimes with limited informationEducate managers and business partners on employee concerns and needs prior to being off or returning back to workCommunicate regular updates to employees and stakeholders both verbally and in writingEnsure compliance with standard work, federal/state regulations, and company policyMaintain system records to ensure accurate and timely information/documentationConsult, coordinate and partner with our third party administrator, HR, Safety, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, team members and other departments/systems as appropriateOther duties as assignedSkillsBachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or a related fieldExperience in customer-facing rolesExperience in Human Resources, Claim Management or Leave & Disability management rolesExperience in English and Spanish language communication skills, both written and verbExperience managing confidential and sensitive employee information and adherence to strict confidentiality standardsExperience handling ambiguous or undefined challenges through strong problem solving abilitiesKnowledge of employment law and HR policies and proceduresKnowledge of HRIS or Applicant Tracking Systems are preferredExperience working in multicultural or bilingual environmentsBenefitsStarting Day 1 of employment, Amazon offers EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, 401(k) matching.Learn more about our benefits at https://hiring.amazon.com/why-amazon/benefits.Company OverviewAmazon is a tech firm with a focus on e-commerce, cloud computing, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence.
