[Remote] Accounts Receivable Specialist

They are seeking a highly motivated Accounts Receivable Specialist to join their Accounts Receivable Resolution Team, responsible for managing inquiries from insurance carriers and pursuing reimbursement for outstanding accounts.ResponsibilitiesRespond to inquiries from insurance carriers, via telephone, email or fax and demonstrate a high level of customer servicePursue reimbursement from carriers by placing phone calls and recording all contact in an electronic tracking system to ensure progress is made on outstanding accountsCoordinate third party collections and work toward the successful reduction in outstanding balances for assigned divisions or projectsIdentify and respond to patterns of denials or billing practices and perform complex account investigation as needed to achieve resolutionReview and resolve uncollected accounts and prepare charge correctionsAppeal carrier denials through review of coding, contracts, and medical recordsVerify patient benefit eligibility/coverage and research ICD-10 diagnosis and CPT treatment codes as neededAdvise management of any trends regarding insurance denials in an effort to identify problems with particular payersComplete required reports and assist with special projects as assignedSkillsHigh school diplomaMinimum of 1-2 years hands-on experience in a fast-paced medical billing environmentPrevious experience in a healthcare settingFamiliarity with CPT and ICD-10Strong communication skillsAttention to detailSolid PC and application skillsAbility to handle a very high volume of work with speed and accuracyProven ability in collections and negotiationAbility to understand and apply contract language to billingCPC certificationBenefitsCU Medicine provides generous leave, health plans and retirement contributions which take your total compensation beyond the number on your paycheck.Company OverviewUniversity of Colorado Medicine is a health care center.
